My family checked out Lego Brickmania at the Columbus Convention Center recently and really had fun. There were areas to build new stuff and sections to marvel at the things others had already built.

One of the coolest things was this Lego replica of The USS Missouri. It was especially cool for us because we’d just come back from vacation, where we’d taken a tour of the real-life version of a similar ship, the North Carolina. I’ve included pictures of both for comparison. The details on the Lego ship were really impressive.

We built Bionicles, Star Wars ships and whatever else we felt like. We had some pretty cool creations!

In the end, we were invited into the house of horrors, which consisted of participants walking barefoot over hot Legos.

It was a lot of fun to see the creations, but to be honest, I think we could have done the build stuff at home for free. Of course, we wouldn’t have had soooooo many bricks to use in our efforts.
